Teaching Assistant – Primary and ALN (Full Time / Part Time) – Newport

Vision for Education is recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across Primary and ALN settings in the Newport area. This flexible role is available on a full-time or part-time basis and is well suited to individuals with a passion for education and supporting children with a range of learning needs.

This opportunity allows you to support pupils within mainstream primary classrooms as well as Additional Learning Needs (ALN) provisions, helping children to engage with learning, build confidence, and reach their potential.

Pay and location

• Location: Newport
• Pay: £88.92 – £101.92 per day (depending on experience and/or qualifications)

The role

As a Primary and ALN Teaching Assistant in Newport, you will support classroom teachers by assisting with lesson delivery and classroom management. You may work with whole classes, small groups, or on a one-to-one basis, particularly supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs.

You could be supporting pupils across the foundation phase and Key Stage 2, so flexibility, adaptability, and a positive approach are essential.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role. If you do not currently hold one or are not registered on the Update Service, Vision for Education can support you through the registration process.

Requirements

The desired Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working in primary school settings
• Experience supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
• A strong commitment to supporting pupil progress and wellbeing
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Registration with the Educational Workforce Council (EWC), or willingness to register with support
