We’re looking for a motivated and caring Level 1 Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking school in the Weston area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with transferable skills or early TA experience who is ready to support pupils in the classroom, help deliver planned activities, and play a key role in their academic and personal development.
Working under the guidance of teaching staff, you’ll help students access learning, build confidence, and feel supported throughout the school day. If you're passionate about inclusion and ready to grow your skills within a warm and ambitious school environment, this could be the next step for you.
What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting pupils during lessons so they can fully engage with classroom activities
• Implementing planned tasks and adapting activities based on pupils’ needs and responses
• Providing 1:1 or small-group support to help learners stay focused and make progress
• Assisting with behaviour support, emotional regulation and wellbeing
• Helping prepare learning materials and resources ahead of lessons
• Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and colleagues across the school
We’re looking for someone who:
• Understands the role of a TA and how to support pupils effectively
• Can build positive relationships and communicate sensitively with young people
• Is confident supporting behaviour and engagement using calm, consistent strategies
• Is organised, proactive and able to adapt resources when needed
• Has a genuine interest in working with children and supporting a fully inclusive environment
• Is open to professional training, such as TA qualifications or first aid
• Brings empathy, patience, and a willingness to learn
