teaching assistant - hull - full time

About the role

Technology Technician
Location: West Hull Secondary School
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract: Permanent (via Vision for Education initially, with transition to direct school contract)

Vision for Education

Vision for Education is delighted to be supporting a welcoming and well-respected secondary school in West Hull in their search for a Technology Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and collaborative school environment where staff are committed to providing high-quality learning experiences and supporting students to achieve their best.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting both the Technology and Science departments, ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly, safely, and effectively. This position would suit someone who is organised, proactive, and confident working in workshop, laboratory, or classroom-based settings.

The Role

We are looking for a Technology Technician to work across Technology and Science areas within the school. Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable, though not essential if you can demonstrate relevant practical skills and a willingness to learn.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing materials, equipment, and resources for practical lessons

  • Supporting teaching staff during practical activities where appropriate

  • Maintaining tools, machinery, and specialist equipment to a high safety standard

  • Monitoring and organising stock levels

  • Ensuring all areas and equipment comply with health and safety requirements

  • Providing general classroom support where needed

This role offers the opportunity to become a valued member of the school’s support team. The successful candidate will initially work through Vision for Education, with a planned transition onto a direct school contract following a successful period.

Why Work Through Vision for Education?

  • Competitive weekly pay through PAYE

  • A dedicated consultant for ongoing support

  • Access to free training and CPD opportunities

  • Strong working relationships with schools across the region

Safeguarding Statement

Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All staff we register must undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide professional references. Safeguarding compliance is essential.

If you are practical, organised, and keen to support hands-on learning across Technology and Science, we would be pleased to hear from you. Please get in touch for more information or to apply.
