Teacher of Religious Studies East Grinstead £30,000- £46,525 (salary is dependant on qualifications and/or experience) May 2024

About the role

One of our secondary schools in East Grinstead are looking for a enthusiastic and reliable Teacher of Religious Studies to join their vibrant team. Webelieve in offering a broad and balanced curriculum in which trips, visits, clubs, charity work and competitions play a vital part. Our ambition is for our students to leave us with the best grades possible to support the next step of their journey, but we will only have fully achieved our vision if they also leave as well rounded, confident and curious young adults who believe in themselves, that anything is possible and go on to achieve great things in their future.

Our fundamental belief is that every student has potential, gifts, and talents. It is our job, no matter what role we have in school, to provide the opportunities, challenge, guidance, and support that enables them to truly flourish. We have high expectations of our students who we expect to work hard, live our values and fully engage in school life every day.

● Are you an inspirational teacher and/or leader with the ability to inspire young people and colleagues alike?

● Do you share our philosophy of high aspiration and expectations for all students?

● Are you someone who believes that by fostering positive and collaborative relationships between students, families and school, there are no barriers to learning that cannot be overcome?

The role of a Religious Studies Teacher can vary from day to day. You will have the chance to go to a number of different schools and teach a variety of subjects. The majority of work you will deliver will be pre-planned; however occasionally you may need to have your own resources and material to hand, suitable to the subjects and age groups you are happy to teach.

  • Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system.
  • Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability).
  • Social and networking events.
  • Pension contributions.
  • CPD to help with your professional development.
  • Access to a dedicated consultant.

To be considered for the role of Religious Studies Teacher you will:

  • A teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or QTS (or relevent teaching qualification).
  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across a range of subjects and age groups.
  • Have experience of working with secondary school aged children

Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.

Vision for Education do not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, colour, religion, disability or sexual orientation, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.

Apply via this website with an up-to-date CV and contact details. For more information, or an informal chat about the role, please call Kimberley Logan on 01273 952 488 or email Kimberley.Logan@visionforeducation.co.uk.
