About the role


About the Role

Are you a qualified teacher with a passion for Special Educational Needs? We are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to work on a long‑term basis in our partner SEN school in Bristol. You will deliver high quality teaching, support students with additional needs, work with EHCPs, behaviour plans, and help children make effective progress in both academic and personal development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEN (e.g. SEMH, ASD, MLD, PMLD)

  • Implement individualised support / intervention plans, in line with EHCPs and SEN code of practice

  • Manage behaviour positively and proactively, using strategies suited to the needs of SEN pupils

  • Work in collaboration with SENCOs, teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals

  • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress; adapt teaching accordingly

  • Create a nurturing, inclusive, safe learning environment


Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential

  • Experience working in a SEN school / with students with SEN across different age groups

  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one - we can support you with this)

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Resilience, an open mind, teamwork skills, and genuine care for supporting vulnerable individuals


Desirable

  • Experience in particular SEN specialisms (ASD / SEMH / MLD etc.)

  • Experience with interventions and additional support programmes

  • Ability to adapt teaching styles to meet a variety of learning, communication, sensory and emotional needs
