About the role
As a Sport Coach (Behavioural Support) worker, you will be supporting pupils with Learning Disabilities and Challenging behaviours to work to the best of their ability in order to make the most of their education and learning. You will assist and encourage the children to take part in all activities and tasks carried out by the school including physical activity, lesson activities and crafts. The responsibilities of a Sport Coach (Behavioural Support) worker at this school are to build relationships with the pupils in order to fully understand their needs and requirements and adapt to their personalized approach to learning to help them achieve their individual outcomes and guide them towards their aspirations for the future. The successful applicant will have had previous experience in dealing with Challenging Behaviours and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, ADHD and Emotional Behavioural Difficulties, MLD and ASD. This can be a very rewarding role for somebody who wants to make a positive impact on a young person’s life.
About the school
The environment in which you will be working is in a pupil referral unit that caters for children between the ages of 11 to 16 (KS3/4). The school caters for pupils with a wide range of learning needs from social, emotional and mental health needs, emotional behavioural difficulties and ADHD. The school is committed to providing an environment in which all pupils can feel safe, happy, accepted and integrated, so that they are able to develop to their full potential. This means various facilities and provisions have been added to the school like creative/sensory rooms and sunken trampolines in order to make it accessible for each child and they can make the most out of their learning.
Requirements
- • Be available Monday to Friday
- • Be willing to engage with children who display challenging behaviours.
- • Be willing to undergo a DBS check and update service.
- • Experience and understanding of those with Special Education Needs.
- • Have a driving licence and access to a car or access to public transport.

£415 to £450 per week
