Vision for Education are seeking specialised PE teachers to support children with special educational needs and disabilities
About the role
Vision for Education is seeking a Specialist PE Teacher to work in an alternative provision with children who are no longer in mainstream education. Teaching a range of sporting activities on a supply basis offering both short term and long-term placements in a supportive and friendly specialist setting, with children aged 5 to 16 who require additional support with Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity Disorder, Social Emotional and Mental Health challenges.

The Alternative Provision caters for students with communication and interaction problems, learning difficulties, social or emotional issues. The Alternative Provision offers brilliant facilities and resources, the provision staff pride themselves on their child-centred approach to drive engagement with the students and achieve results which reflect this. The schools have excellent public transport links, but access to a vehicle would be advantageous.
Requirements
- To be considered for the Specialist PE Teacher for all ages role you must: • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Newly Qualified Teaching Status (NQT) • Hold a driving licence, which would be preferred, but not essential. • A DBS Certificate is an advantage but not essential, this can be arranged. • Confident de-escalating challenging situations. Training would be an advantage but not essential. Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children and young people. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.

Salary
£475 to £650 per week
- Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
