Vision for Education are recruiting for a number of permanent, full time, contracted Senior SEND Learning Support Assistants at a large, well respected Special Needs school in Aylesbury, starting June / July 2025.

About the role

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience supporting children, young adults or vulnerable adult service users within a classroom / school setting. The role is a permanent, contracted opportunity subject to an interview process and trial to establish suitability. Working hours are Monday - 8.30-16.30, Tuesday 08.30- 16.30, Wednesday 08.30-17.00 (staff meeting), Thursday 08.30-16.30, Friday 8.30-15.30. 30 minutes lunch break each day.

This is an established school offering excellent training, induction, career progression and support.

The role involves supporting education, personal care, personal and social development as well as supporting and leading other staff members.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Senior Learning Support Assistant within Special Schools you will require

  • An Enhanced DBS ( on update service)
  • Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable young adults; care, kindness and resilience
  • Classroom based experience supporting SEND learners
  • Ideally training related to communication strategies and systems, safe working practices, knowledge and experience of deescalation techniques
  • Experience of intervention work
