Vision for Education are proud to be working in partnership with a multi academy trust in East Anglia to recruit a teacher for one of their schools.

About the role

We welcome applications from Teachers who have experience teaching a Primary, Secondary or Post-16 curriculum to learners with SEND.

The main purpose of the role is to provide inspirational and outstanding teaching whilst nurturing a safe, secure, and caring educational environment. The role will comprise of planning and teaching lessons across a Key Stage that matches your skills and experience.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of the students at the school and be instrumental in providing a lasting, positive effect on both the educational and life outcomes for young people with a range of educational needs.

About the school

The school is part of a MAT that consists of several SEND schools and also provides some specialist provision within mainstream education. The school provides education for children aged 7 – 19 with a range of SEND, including: ASD, SLCN, SpLD, & visual impairments.

The MAT take a trauma informed approach in order to support young people with trauma or mental health issues that act as a barrier to learning. They are passionate in both supporting and developing their staff to ensure both staff wellbeing and the best possible outcomes for their students.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEND Teacher you will:
  • Teaching qualification with QTS / QTLS (essential)
  • SEND qualification or evidence of SEND training (desirable)
  • Knowledge of curriculum with a proven ability to differentiate across ability levels
  • Ability to establish and maintain high quality planning and recording
  • Understanding multi agency working and collaboration with parents/carers
  • Understanding of specialist strategies to address difficulties in areas such as: communication, social interaction, sensory regulation, and extremes of behaviour

Key responsibilities

As SEND Teacher you will be responsible for:
  • Strive to be an outstanding teacher for students with SEND
  • Show pro-active commitment to continuing personal professional development
  • Supervise the work of non-teaching staff and support them in the organisation and implementation of appropriate work with the students
  • Maintain records of assessment, collect appropriate data, maintain students’ individual education plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans as required by the school
  • Work collaboratively with parents/carers and ensure they are fully cognisant of their child’s progress and development at school
  • Assist students with SEND in the development of self-esteem, self-expression, and self-advocacy

£30,000 to £46,525 per year

MPS / UPS salary, plus SEND allowance (£2,539 - £5,009)
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
