About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Worker to join our supportive primary school team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, develop independence, and thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Help implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Support pupils with personal care where required
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (in a school or similar setting)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) – desirable but not essential
