About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive and inclusive school in Chelmsford. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting them to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Support students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
- Help manage behaviour positively and encourage engagement in lessons
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCO
- Support students’ social and emotional development
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred)
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential
