About the role
Vision for Education are recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant for a SEND school in Barrow-in-Furness. The role is full time (Monday to Friday) which will start in April 2024 depending on availability and could result in a permanent contract from the setting.
The role will be working as an additional support in the classroom, working with students in small groups and 1:1 with students with SEND learning needs to support them with both life based skills, alongside a flexible curriculum in the core subjects (English and Maths).

The school is one of the main local providers for students aged 4-18 years old with generic learning needs. Each child has a care, health and education plan in place to support with their daily routine and activities planned at school which are differentiated to suit each child.
The school is also based in a great location and is very close to popular bus routes, making the school easily accessible from nearby areas such as Barrow town centre, Ulverston and Dalton.
Requirements
- Someone who has worked with children, young people, or vulnerable adults in any capacity
- Someone who may have experience with supporting people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
- Someone with great patience, drive, and determination
- Someone looking to extend and expand their skillset

Salary
£350 to £400 per week
- Recent, relevant experience working with young people or adults with Autism or SEND learning needs.
