We are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a role in Carnforth, starting in September 2022.
About the role
The school are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who has experience in working with students with SEND needs including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Learning Difficulties/Disabilities.
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant would be working with students across the school aged from 5-19 years old. The students are across a broad cognitive profile ranging from those at an early developmental stage up to those who may follow entry level/ GCSE programmes.
The students may be displaying challenging behaviour due to the mismatch of provision to need or struggling to sustain attendance in lessons or school because of the environment or curriculum. Typically, they may be making poor or limited progress. Sometimes they may be exhibiting anxiety or distress, so the SEN Teaching Assistant must be comfortable in working with students with multiple barriers to learning.
