Vision for Education are recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants for primary and SEND schools in Kendal to start ASAP or in September 2024. Pay is from £350-£450 per week on a full-time basis.

About the role

Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs? Do you have the drive to make a difference in the lives of young learners?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dynamic team at a leading Primary or SEND specialist provider in the Kendal area.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting the class teacher in delivering outstanding educational support to students with SEN. You will work closely with students on an individual basis or in small groups within the classroom, providing tailored assistance to meet their specific learning needs. Your role will involve fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment, supporting students in their academic, social, and emotional development.

The role is due to start either ASAP or at the beginning of the next academic term in September 2024 and is a full-time role (Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 3:30pm).

The school is one of the main local specialist providers in the Kendal area and caters to a wide range of students from the South Lakes area.

Our client school is accessible via public transport and is close to a local train station. It is also easily accessible via local bus routes.


To be considered for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant you will:

  • A genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs.
  • Desirable to have experience in supporting students with SEN, preferably in a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience to overcome challenges and adapt to individual student needs.
  • A strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.

£350 to £450 per week

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Desirable to have relevant qualifications in Special Education or Teaching Assistant certification
