Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants Urgently Required York Full / part time £75 per day

About the role

Vision for Education are urgently seeking a skilled SEN specialist teaching assistant to work within a York SEN school on a flexible supply basis, 3-5 days per week for the summer term and beyond.

Term time only. 8.30am - 4pm (30 minute lunch)

The Role:

As an SEN teaching assistant, the role can vary from school to school and can include the following duties;

  • Academic support
  • Behaviour mentor
  • Assistance with communication
  • Run or assist with Nuture groups
  • Personal care and toilet training
  • Working inside or outside the classroom with individuals or groups
  • Nurturing children's physical, social and emotional welfare
  • Keep records and attend review meetings

This friendly school caters for pupils with various SEN, aged 5-11 years, while providing a nurturing and friendly ethos where children are respected and valued and where individual needs are recognised and supported.

She school is easily accessible from York, Selby and Leeds. Free onsite parking.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant you will:
  • As an SEN teaching assistant you will work with children with a range of SEN such as Autism, ADHD, SLCN, and PD, so experience in one or more of there areas, or moving and handling training would be desirable.
  • Minimum of 1 years experience working within a school or care setting
  • Able to promote a safe and positive learning environment
