Experienced Teaching Assistant – Gloucester
Full-time | Term-time | Long-term & supply pathways available
We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Teaching Assistant to support pupils across primary schools in the Gloucester area. This role is ideal for someone who already brings strong classroom experience — whether from mainstream, SEN, or specialist settings — and is ready to take on more responsibility within a supportive school community.
You’ll work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to deliver targeted support, guide pupils through challenges, and help create a learning environment where every child feels capable and valued. Your insight and experience will make a real difference, especially for children who need reassurance, structure, and someone who truly understands their needs.
What we’re looking for:
• Previous experience supporting learning in a primary school setting
• Confidence leading small groups and reinforcing key learning objectives
• Strong behaviour support skills and the ability to de-escalate calmly
• An understanding of SEND, differentiation and inclusive practice
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Someone who can take initiative, adapt quickly and support the class teacher effectively
Role Requirements:
• Available full-time, Monday to Friday during school hours
• Comfortable supporting KS1 or KS2 learners
• Able to work with pupils who may present additional needs or emotional challenges
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
• Right to work in the UK
Why Apply:
• Competitive weekly pay reflecting your experience
• Long-term roles offering consistency, as well as flexible supply options
• A range of welcoming Gloucester schools to match your strengths
• Ongoing CPD — including behaviour, SEN and intervention training
• A dedicated consultant who values your expertise and supports your career progression
• Opportunities to move into HLTA, SEN support or pastoral pathways
If you’re looking for a role where your experience is appreciated — and where you can genuinely help children feel secure, motivated, and proud of their achievements — this could be the perfect next step.
Apply today and bring your expertise to a school where it will truly matter.
