Vision for Education are looking to grow their teaching team with a vacancy for an SEN Cover Teacher for SEN settings around the Lancaster area.
About the role
The successful SEN Cover Teacher will be tasked with working with classes made up of students across Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5. The schools we partner are looking for flexibility with the potential of roles becoming long-term and permanent for the right candidate.
The SEN Cover Teacherr will have experience working with a variety of SEN needs from Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) to Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
As a SEN Cover Teacher, your main roles will be:
- Supporting students in completing the work set by the class teacher
- Delivering the work set by the class teacher
- Running small group and 1:1 sessions
- Dealing with potential behaviour issues and ensuring the best progress for each student in the class
About the school
Vision for Education works with a variety of SEN settings in north Lancashire and south Cumbria. These include:
- Specific SEN providers who work closely with individual needs (e.g. Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
- Alternative education providers including Pupil Referral Units who work with students with behavioural issues or are out of mainstream education for other reasons
- Mainstream Primary and Secondary school settings with high numbers of SEN/Pupil Premium students.
Requirements
- Have experience working in a similar setting with young people that have learning difficulties.
- Be proactive and empathetic in your approach, always aiming to achieve the best possible outcomes for the students you work with.
- Be an excellent communicator, able to work well as part of a wider team.
- Have the ability to lead small group and 1:1 activities as directed by the class teacher.
About Vision for Education
Salary
£65 to £85 per day
- Hold a degree level qualification.
- To have recent experience in a similar role within the last two years.
