SEMH Teaching Assistant required for an all boys provision based in Lewes, starting immediately on a temp - perm basis.

We are urgently looking to recruit exceptional SEMH Teaching Assistants on behalf of a special independent school based in Lewes who provide access to education for boys who are unable to attend mainstream education due to their SEND needs. The SEMH Teaching Assistant role will involve working across both key stage 3 and 4, supporting pupils 1-1 and assisting within the wider class.
The Teaching Assistant position is full time, due to start immediately but notice periods can be worked with on a temp - perm basis.
About the school
The school is a small unit for boys attached to a residential care setting, it is a unique setting that are highly effective in supporting complex children who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences. The unit cater to students aged between 11 – 16 who have SEMH needs.
The school aims to motivate children and young people to engage with education and overcome barriers to learning whilst inspiring learners to make positive life choices. - Have prior experience of working with children who have SEMH needs and associated behavioural issues
- Be patient and have an approachable manner
About Vision for Education
Salary
£18,500 to £21,500 per year
- A minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Recent experience working with SEND individuals above the age of 7
