SEMH Teacher required for a specialist setting, teaching secondary aged boys with SEMH needs, starting immediately full time.

About the role

We are looking to recruit a confident and experienced Secondary Teacher on behalf of a specialist unit based in Newhaven. The Secondary Teacher will be working as a SEMH Teacher, this role is due to start immediately on a full time basis until at least July 2022.

The SEMH Teacher will be teaching boys across Key Stage 3 and 4 who are in a care setting, you will be responsible for delivering various different subjects with the support from other experienced classroom teachers and Teaching Assistants.

About the school

The school is a small unit for boys attached to a residential care setting, it is a unique setting that are highly effective in supporting complex children who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences. The unit cater to students aged between 11 – 16 who have SEMH needs.

The school aims to motivate children and young people to engage with education and overcome barriers to learning whilst inspiring learners to make positive life choices.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEMH Teacher you will:
  • Ideally have experience within a SEND environment but this isn’t essential
  • Have excellent behaviour management
  • Have experience teaching children aged between 11 -16
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.

Salary

£110 to £189 per day

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • Recent teaching experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status
