A truly unique and alternative setting in Redbridge are looking to welcome Primary or Secondary Trained Teachers to support their SEMH learners , on a full time basis . The setting accommodates up 16 learners, with all tutoring taking place in small/intimate learning areas , on a 1:1 basis . Learners here are aged anything from 10-18 years of age.

The most important skill the successful candidate must display is the desire to invest in forging relationships and respect, and the ability to work hard and be consistent in making this happen. Learners here may hail from unfortunate/less desirable backgrounds, and therefore need to be invited into an engaging and non-judgemental space where they can thrive , and be afforded an equal right to an education .

The ideal candidate would have Humanities or English as a subject strength. Notw, those without QTS are welcome to apply as long as they have relavant experience of the above.

Working hours are 0830-1600, 5 days per week.

Experience and training needed for this role include:

Previous experience of teaching the Primary or Secondary curriculum

Ability to diffuse challenging behaviour if presented, and to remain both calm and respectful

Prior experience or a desire to join work in smaller and more specialist settings

A commitment to supporting learners both academically and pastorally
