Location: Swindon/Salisbury/Chippenham/Melksham Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 – 3:30. Pay: £23,500 - £27,500 per annum

About the role

About the school

As a SEMH Mentor, you will be required to provide specialist support to children aged 5 to 18 years old in an alternative provision. Children needs will range from communication and interaction difficulties, specific learning difficulties, autism or have anxieties and difficulties that create barriers to learning. Vision For Education are seeking the ideal candidate who is positive, enthusiastic, and eager to develop their skills. You will support provide one to one support through tutoring, work experience, physical and emotional development to motivate and overcome obstacles to their learning. The team are solution-focused and dedicated to help improve outcomes for vulnerable pupils and offer outstanding education they deserve.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEMH Mentor you will:
  • Skills of empathy, listening and communication.
  • A flexible, adaptable and positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding.
  • Have a DBS on the update service or willing to start a new application.
  • Competent behaviour management skills.

Key responsibilities

As SEMH Mentor you will be responsible for:
  • Developing a personalised learning plan.
  • Provide 1:1 support.
  • Monitor progress, effectiveness of interventions and adjust/reflect as needed.

Salary

£23,500 to £27,500 per year

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • At least one years’ experience of working in a learning/childcare setting.
