York and surrounding areas
April 2026 – Ongoing (Temporary and Permanent Opportunities)
About the Role
Vision for Education are currently seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Secondary Supply Teachers to work across a range of schools in York and the surrounding areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced teachers looking to join a flexible and supportive workforce. Whether you’re looking for day-to-day supply, long-term placements, or something more permanent, we can help find the right role to suit your needs.
As a Secondary Supply Teacher, your role will vary from day to day. You’ll have the chance to work in different school settings, delivering pre-planned lessons and engaging students across a range of subjects. While most work will be prepared in advance, having a few of your own resources to hand can be beneficial.
We also offer a guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability), meaning you can enjoy added financial security even on quieter weeks.
About the Schools
At Vision for Education, we partner with a wide range of schools across York, including secondary and SEN settings. From larger city schools to smaller community schools, we’ll match you with environments that suit your teaching style and preferences.
We are also actively recruiting for permanent teaching positions, so if you’re looking to secure a long-term role, we’d love to hear from you.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
Have strong behaviour management skills
Be available to work between 1 and 5 days per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.
Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. All staff will undergo thorough vetting checks, including an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
