We are looking to grow our support team with a vacancy for a Residential Support Worker in the Carnforth area, starting ASAP.

About the role

The role of a Residential Support Worker will involve supporting young people with Social Emotional and Mental Health Issues along with other needs including but not limited to ASD, ADHD, PDA, attachment disorders and behaviours that challenge within the school and residential setting.

This role requires a committed, enthusiastic, and resilient individual, with excellent communication skills as well as experience of report writing and record keeping, with emotional intelligence and the ability to react calmly in stressful situations.

This is a full-time role with the possibility of temporary to permanent contracts for the ideal Residential Support Worker candidate.

About the school

The school is OFSTED Outstanding and caters for pupils aged 2-19 with Profound and Multiple learning Difficulties, some with associated complex needs and some with ASD.

You will be instrumental in ensuring school values continue throughout the school day, maintaining and adding to the already Outstanding Ofsted ethos.

The school is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just 10 mins from Jct 35 of the M6. The school has a wealth of resources, including a swimming pool, rebound room and a bespoke sensory suite.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Residential Support Worker you will:
  • Have experience working in a similar setting with young people that have learning difficulties.
  • Be proactive and empathetic in your approach, always aiming to achieve the best possible outcomes for the students you work with.
  • Be an excellent communicator, able to work well as part of a wider team.
  • Previous experience of working with behaviours that challenge is highly desirable.
  • Possessing a Driving Licence is mandatory for this role.

Salary

£10 to £12 per hour

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • To have recent experience in a similar role within the last two years.
  • Hold a full Driving Licence.
