This role is ideal for psychology graduates looking to gain hands-on experience supporting children and young people with a range of learning, behavioural, and social needs.

Pay and location

• Location: Newport
• Pay: £12.24 per hour (depending on experience and/or qualifications)

The role

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant in Newport, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils aged 3 to 16. You may provide one-to-one support, assist small group interventions, and help manage classroom behaviour, particularly for pupils with additional learning needs, social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.

• Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
• A patient, empathetic, and professional approach
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Registration with the Educational Workforce Council (EWC), or willingness to register with support
