Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Newport
Vision for Education is recruiting motivated and compassionate Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistants to work with pupils aged 3 to 16 across schools in the Newport area. This role is ideal for psychology graduates looking to gain hands-on experience supporting children and young people with a range of learning, behavioural, and social needs.

Pay and location
• Location: Newport
• Pay: £88.92 – £101.92 per day (depending on experience and/or qualifications)
The role
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant in Newport, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils aged 3 to 16. You may provide one-to-one support, assist small group interventions, and help manage classroom behaviour, particularly for pupils with additional learning needs, social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
You could be supporting pupils across early years, primary, and secondary settings, so flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach are essential.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this role. If you do not currently hold one or are not registered on the Update Service, Vision for Education can support you through the registration process.
Requirements
The desired Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant will have:
• A degree in Psychology or a related discipline
• A strong interest in child development, behaviour, and learning
• Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
• A patient, empathetic, and professional approach
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Registration with the Educational Workforce Council (EWC), or willingness to register with support
