About the role

Primary Teacher – Newport

Are you a qualified or newly qualified Primary Teacher living in or able to commute to Newport?

Do you hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or are you due to qualify as an Early Career Teacher (ECT)?

Are you interested in day-to-day supply, long-term teaching roles, or flexible work within primary schools in Newport?

Excellent rates of pay – from £172.98 per day, with paid-to-scale rates for long-term placements

Vision for Education Cardiff is currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teachers for a range of day-to-day and long-term supply opportunities across Newport and surrounding areas.

We work closely with a large network of primary schools throughout Newport and are currently experiencing high demand for qualified Primary Teachers across the Foundation Phase through to Key Stage 2.

Whether you are an experienced teacher or an ECT looking to gain valuable classroom experience, we would love to hear from you. These roles offer an excellent opportunity to secure flexible work while building strong relationships with local schools, with potential pathways into permanent teaching positions.

The Role

As a Primary Teacher in Newport, you will:

• Deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the Curriculum for Wales
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Adapt teaching methods to support a range of learning abilities and needs
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and professionally
• Mark and assess pupils’ work in line with school policies
• Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and carers

We have opportunities available across:

• Foundation Phase
• Key Stage 1 (KS1)
• Key Stage 2 (KS2)
• Day-to-day supply teaching
• Long-term teaching placements
• Full-time and part-time teaching roles

Requirements

To be considered for these Primary Teacher jobs in Newport, you must:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
• Be available on a full-time or part-time basis
• Have a genuine passion for teaching and supporting young learners
• Deliver lessons in line with the Curriculum for Wales and National Curriculum guidance
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
• Be organised and confident with planning and marking
• Be enthusiastic, adaptable, and motivated in your teaching approach
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willing to register

A driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous, although not essential.
