The Role and School

Are you an enthusiastic, engaging Primary Teacher ready for a new challenge in January 2026? We are currently seeking inclusive, dedicated, and motivated Primary Teachers to join a well-established and supportive Primary School in the Ashton-under-Lyne area, within the Tameside borough. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a school community that values creativity, high expectations, and a strong commitment to pupil wellbeing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a Key Stage 2 class from January through to the end of the academic year. The class comprises around 30 pupils and is supported by a knowledgeable and proactive Teaching Assistant. You will be joining a collaborative team who share ideas, resources, and best practice to ensure all pupils receive a high-quality learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming, stimulating, and safe classroom environment that promotes positive attitudes to learning.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured lessons that meet curriculum objectives and support pupils’ academic and personal development.
  • Adapt and differentiate activities to ensure all learners can access the curriculum, including those with additional learning needs.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, contributing to the wider school community and participating in relevant school events.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and/or a PGCE.
  • Previous experience teaching within EYFS, KS1, or KS2, with solid understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to teaching, with a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.

Salary will be based on experience, training, and qualifications. The minimum requirements for this position include:

  • QTS

  • Relevant teaching experience in a primary setting
