Vision for Education are recruiting an experienced PMLD Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Thornbury supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience working with pupils with complex needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and associated health conditions. As a PMLD Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and thrive in a safe, supportive environment.
As a PMLD Support Assistant, your responsibilities may include:

Providing personalised 1:1 support for pupils with PMLD

Supporting pupils with physical, sensory, and communication needs

Assisting with mobility, positioning, and personal care routines where required

Delivering learning activities in line with individual education plans (IEPs)

Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development

Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

Collaborating closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider school team

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled PMLD Support Assistant who:

Has experience supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities

Can confidently support pupils with physical, sensory, and complex needs

Is patient, empathetic, and adaptable

Works well in a team and communicates effectively with staff and parents
-
Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one)
