Vision for Education are working with a large secondary school in Preston to recruit a mentor and pupil support to work alongside children that have been removed from the classroom due to behaviour.

About the role

This role will be To manage the day to day running of the schools behaviour systems, helping disengaged students to reflect on their behaviour and actions and assist in modifying their behaviour in order for them to be successful learners.

You will also: -

  • Assist in the implementation of a range of strategies to re-engage and support students back into lessons, including liaising with staff, parents and carers
  • Manage students’ behaviour constructively, promoting self-control, self-reflection and independence
  • Support the school’s policy and procedures with regard to internal and external exclusions, including the reintegration of pupils back into school following exclusion.
  • Work in a one-to-one relationship with targeted pupils to implement a support plan
  • To maintain good levels of communication and liaison, being a crucial point of contact between home and school by building strong partnerships with parents to help address poor performance/attendance/behaviour

  • Be an excellent communicator, able to work well as part of a wider team

Salary

£75 to £90 per day

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • To have recent experience of working with children or in a school setting
