Vision for Education are looking for Learning Support Workers in the Cwmbran area.

About the role

Learning Support Worker – Teaching Assistant (Full Time / Part Time) – Cwmbran

Salary: £444.60 – £509.60 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Vision for Education is seeking dedicated and caring individuals with a passion for education and pupil development to work as Learning Support Workers / Teaching Assistants in primary schools across the Cwmbran area.

In this role, you will work closely with class teachers to support learning within the classroom. Duties may include assisting with lesson activities, supporting behaviour management, and working with small groups or on a one-to-one basis with pupils who have additional learning needs (ALN). You may be placed across a range of year groups from Foundation Phase through to Key Stage 2, so a flexible and adaptable approach is essential.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, patient, and committed to helping children reach their full potential in a supportive learning environment.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role; Vision for Education can support you through the application process if needed. Registration with the Educational Workforce Council (EWC) is also required, and guidance is available. Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children

  • Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN)

  • A genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and development

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (support available)

  • EWC registration or willingness to register (support available)
