Vision are recruiting for a Learning Support Mentor to work in a Pupil Referral Unit in Newcastle. We are looking for people that have a passion for working with young people that struggle to regulate their own emotions and behaviours.
About the role
Candidates will be working within Pupil Referral Units to support young people that sometimes struggle to regulate their own emotions. You would support young people in Maths, Outdoor Activities, Sport, and other core subject lessons.
About the school
The school caters for young people that have been taken out of their manistream school. They place a big emphasis on sport and physcial activity as it is a fantastic outlet for children that can struggle to express their emotions.
Requirements
To be considered for the role of Learning Support Mentor - Pupil Referral Unit - Newcastle you will:
- Experience or Qualifications in Sports Coaching
- The desire to positively impact the lives of young people that may have suffered trauma
- An outgoing and engaging personality
- The ability to remain calm in volatile situations
- Understand young people that can display aggressive or volatile behaviours
- Be available five days a week, Monday to Friday
- Passion for Maths and ability to assist the Teacher in delivering this subject

Salary
£300 to £400 per week
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Relevant experience with young people or vulnerable adults
