About the role

Location: Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside (OL6)
Salary: £600 – £800 per week (ECTs welcome – paid to scale for long-term roles)
Contract: January to July (long-term)

About the Role

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teacher to join a friendly and supportive primary school in the Ashton-under-Lyne (OL6) area from January 2026 until the end of the academic year. This role would suit a teacher who is passionate about early learning and committed to helping children develop strong academic and social foundations.

You will be responsible for a KS1 class and will be supported by a dedicated Teaching Assistant. The school has a warm, inclusive ethos and a strong sense of teamwork, with staff working collaboratively to provide the best possible outcomes for pupils.

The Role

In this role, you will create a positive and engaging learning environment where children feel safe, confident, and excited to learn. You will plan and deliver creative lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum, adapt learning to meet the needs of all pupils, and build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues. You will also be encouraged to take part in wider school life and contribute to the school’s supportive and welcoming culture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports early learning

  • Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all pupils

  • Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and the wider school team

Requirements

Applicants must hold QTS or a PGCE and have experience teaching in a primary setting, ideally within Key Stage 1. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, a nurturing approach, and a genuine passion for teaching and supporting young learners. ECTs are welcome to apply, and pay will be dependent on experience and qualifications.

Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
