About the role
Humanities Teacher (Geography & History) – Secondary School (East Riding Area)
Full-Time | Permanent | September Start
Vision for Education are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school located within easy commuting distance of Hull, Goole, and surrounding villages.
This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September. The successful candidate will initially have the opportunity to complete the first term on a supply basis through Vision for Education, before transitioning onto a direct contract with the school.
The Role
The successful Humanities Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons in both Geography and History across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will join a collaborative department committed to fostering curiosity about the world and developing students’ understanding of both historical events and geographical processes.
Salary
£30,000 – £46,525 per annum (MPS/UPS), depending on experience and qualifications
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality Geography and History lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
Contribute to the wider life of the school and department
Uphold school policies and procedures
Requirements
To be considered for the role of Humanities Teacher, you will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Have experience teaching Geography and/or History at KS3 and KS4
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for Humanities
Have excellent classroom management skills
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Be able to provide references covering the last two years
