About the role

Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated Home Tutor to work 1:1 with a student with significant physical and medical needs. Tuition sessions would be for around two - three hours per day (within school hours) depending on the student's timetable and capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other agencies to provide feedback and share information,
  • Work with students to build positive relationships and help them overcome barriers to learning,
  • Implement teaching and learning strategies based around the student's EHCP and make adjustments to each session where necessary to have a motivating impact on students and maintain focus,

About the school

Tuition sessions can be requested by local authorities or the school that the student is on roll at, with sessions usually taking place in the student's home (supported by an appropriate adult).

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Home Tutor - PMLD you will:
  • Have proven experience of instructing or teaching young people is essential
  • Have the ability to teach Maths & English
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of working with young people attributed EHCP’s for a Special Educational Needs, with references as evidence

Salary

£25 to £25 per hour

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • Must hold a teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS is desired but not essential)
