The School and Role:

We are seeking a skilled, confident, and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Polegate. This is a full-time position, ideal for an experienced TA or qualified HLTA who is passionate about supporting pupils’ learning and development across the primary age range.

In this role, you will work closely with class teachers to plan and deliver learning activities, provide cover for classes when required, and lead intervention sessions for individuals and small groups. You will play a key role in supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally, helping them to reach their full potential.

The school fosters a positive, inclusive learning environment and values collaboration, initiative, and strong relationships between staff and pupils. You will be welcomed into a dedicated and supportive team who are committed to delivering high-quality education and pastoral care.

The ideal Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:

  • HLTA status or significant experience working at HLTA level

  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting

  • Confidence to lead whole-class learning under the direction of the teacher

  • A patient, caring, and flexible approach

  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (desirable but not essential)
