Vision for education are looking to recruit a qualified teacher to teach in an alternative provision centre in South Gloucestershire.

About the role

This general teaching role is an opportunity to make a positive difference for those students who require additional support to access their mainstream schooling and overcome barriers to learning and improved behaviour. Working in close collaboration with a team of teaching assistants and hub coordinators and the leadership team, you will help deliver a curriculum that supports students, who access our centre, to improve their attendance, behaviour for learning and wellbeing. Supporting them to embrace routines and ultimately become re-engaged in mainstream education. Teaching much smaller classes than in mainstream academies, this alternative provision focuses on personal development and the health and well being of students, whilst not losing academic rigour.

About the school

This is an innovative alternative provision centre, principally for students who need additional behavioural, social, emotional or mental health support. In line with its commitment to inclusion in its widest sense, this is an alternative provision for vulnerable students who display challenging behaviours and are often at risk of high levels of fixed-period exclusions or permanent exclusion.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of General Teacher (SEND) you will:
  • Ability to use a range of teaching strategies
  • Experience of assessment at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Recent and relevant teaching experience in employment or training
  • Teaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Awareness of strategies available for improving the learning and achievement of all students
Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
