Our welcoming secondary school in Basildon is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Future Teacher / Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team.

This exciting role offers the chance to gain valuable hands-on classroom experience while supporting pupils’ learning and development across all year groups. Working alongside experienced teachers, you’ll help deliver engaging lessons, support individual learners, and develop the skills needed to progress into teacher training or a school-based qualification in the future.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of creative and engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.
  • Work with pupils in small groups or one-to-one to support learning progress.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, organisation, and learning resources.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote inclusion and participation.
  • Supervise classes during teacher absences, following pre-prepared plans.
  • Contribute to school events, assemblies, and wider activities.

We’re Looking For:

  • A positive and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with children.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting teaching and learning.
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education or teaching.
  • Previous experience with children (in school or childcare) is helpful but not essential.
