Vision for Education are recruiting on behalf of a school in Scunthorpe who are seeking to appoint a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis, starting in March 2022. This could be made permanent for the right candidate.

About the role

The successful Complex Needs Teaching Assistant will be tasked with working with small classes, made up of students aged between 11 and 19. Working under the direction of the class teacher, the ideal Complex Needs Teaching Assistant will be energetic, flexible, positive and patient, with an ability to build strong working relationships with young people.

The students have an array of needs, varying from autism, mild and severe learning difficulties to complex needs.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Complex Needs Teaching Assistant you will:
  • Have experience working in a similar setting with young people that have learning difficulties. For example, this could be at a similar school, residential care home or supported living
  • Be proactive and empathetic in your approach, always aiming to achieve the best possible outcomes for the students you work with
  • Be an excellent communicator, able to work well as part of a wider team
  • Must have or be happy to get a Child and Adult DBS on the update service

Salary

£65 to £70 per day

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • 3 months experience working with SEND children, young people or adults
  • Full UK clean driving license
  • A relevant level 2/3 qualification
