The Role

As a Classroom Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide consistent, tailored support to pupils with a broad range of needs, including ASD, SLD, PMLD and communication difficulties.

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping them access learning and develop confidence and independence.

• Assist with personal care, moving and handling, and hoist use where required (training can be provided).

• Respond calmly and professionally to changes in behaviour, routine or emotional regulation needs.

• Build meaningful, trusting relationships that promote engagement, wellbeing and personal growth.

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you should:

• Be patient, flexible and nurturing in your approach.

• Have experience supporting children or young people (desirable but not essential).

• Be confident supporting both 1:1 and small groups.

• Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills or be open to further training.

• Be comfortable supporting pupils with varying needs such as ASD, SLD or PMLD (beneficial).

• Ideally have moving and handling training or relevant experience.

• Be willing to support with personal care.

• Be open to ongoing CPD.

• Have a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.

• Access to your own transport is highly desirable due to the school’s locations.

Salary

£88.92 – £91.00 per day, depending on experience, training and qualifications.
