In this rewarding role, you’ll support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to feel safe, understood, and confident in their learning environment.

A key focus of this position is to build positive relationships, support emotional regulation, and use de-escalation strategies to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively. This is a long-term role with potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

All applicants will need to complete a Right to Work check and hold (or be willing to obtain) a DBS on the Update Service.

  • A kind, empathetic and patient approach when working with children facing emotional or behavioural difficulties

  • The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to ensure consistent, high-quality support

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all students

  • Adaptability and creativity when delivering interventions or classroom support

  • A background in education, youth work, care, psychology or similar fields (desirable but not essential)
