Vision For Education are seeking Children’s Residential Support Workers within a children’s residential care setting in Mansfield.
The role
The role of a Residential Children’s Support Worker will involve working within a Children’s residential setting with LAC children. The setting supports young children with Learning Disability and Autism. The children and young people may have additional diagnosis including but not inclusive of, Sensory Processing Difficulties, Demand Avoidance, Obsessiveness, ADHD, and behavioural difficulties.
This role requires a committed, enthusiastic and resilient individual, with excellent communication skills as well as experience of report writing and record keeping, with emotional intelligence and the ability to react calmly in stressful situations.
This is a full time temporary to permanent role. However, we do offer day to day cover as well.
The Setting
This setting caters for young people between the ages of 7 to 18 years of age within a residential setting based in the Mansfield area.
Requirements
To be considered for the Support worker position, you will:
Full clean Driving Licence is essential
- Own transport is essential and full driving license held for over 3 years
- Have a minimum of 6 months experience in one relevant setting i.e. school, youth centre, sports coaching, residential setting, respite centre
- Previous experience of working with behaviours that challenge is highly desirable
- An enhanced DBS registered to the update service or the willingness to apply for one
- The ability to work on initiative and proactively
- Able to work Monday – Sunday on a rota basis
- The desire to work with young people with special educational needs
- A NVQ 3 in Health and Social Work would be desired but not essential
