About the role
Vision for Education is seeking a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant for Key Stage 3 working in local Pupil Referral Unit school in Thirsk, starting in ASAP. Working supply on a one-to-one basis and general classroom support in a friendly and supportive specialist setting, with children aged 11-14 who require additional support due to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and Social, Emotional and Mental Health in a Pupil Referral Unit. This opportunity is perfect for someone with previous experience working in a Pupil Referral or someone who has worked in a support role in a mainstream classroom setting.
About the school
The specialist school caters for students who are not in a mainstream setting to give them additional support with communication and interaction problems, learning difficulties and social or emotional issues. The school offers a strong support team for all their staff, and the permanent staff pride themselves on their child-centred approach.
Requirements
- Requirements To be considered for the Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant role you must: • Hold a driving licence, which would be preferred, but not essential. • Confident de-escalating challenging situations. Training would be an advantage but not essential. • Hold a DBS certificate would be an advantage but not essential this can be arranged. Salary
£10 to £10 per hour
