Behaviour Support Assistant – SEND Schools in Helston

Part-Time & Full-Time Roles Available

About the Role

Vision for Education is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about entering the education sector. We partner with local SEND schools to provide comprehensive training and hands-on experience to Behaviour Support Assistants.

After a successful interview and completion of necessary safeguarding and identity checks, we’ll work with you to secure a paid placement in a school, where you can grow your skills and expertise. You'll have the chance to choose a specialist area across Key Stages 1-5 and develop your identity as an educator.

Training Provided:
Before your placement begins, you’ll complete a FREE training program designed by Vision for Education in collaboration with school leaders, equipping you with the skills you need to succeed as a Teaching Assistant.

About the School

Teaching Assistants play a crucial role in supporting the smooth running of any school. The most effective Teaching Assistants communicate well and are passionate about meeting the day-to-day needs of students. Building strong relationships with both staff and students is key to success in this role.

The responsibilities may vary, but typically include assisting with whole-class teaching, running small group interventions, or offering 1:1 support to ensure all children can thrive.

What We’re Looking For

To be considered for the Behaviour Support Assistant role, you should:

  • Have a passion for helping children succeed.

  • Be dedicated to improving educational outcomes for all students.

  • Possess kindness, empathy, and compassion.

  • Be proactive, communicative, and eager to learn.

  • Commit to completing required training and continuing your professional development (CPD).

  • Be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above in Mathematics, English, and Science.
