We're looking for reliable, compassionate BANK TAs to support SEN schools across Thornbury and South Gloucestershire. This role suits a BANK TA who wants flexibility, variety, and work that genuinely matters.

About the role

BANK TA – SEN Schools | Thornbury & South Gloucestershire

Flexible Bank Work | Immediate & Ongoing Shifts

As a BANK TA, you’ll be stepping into different SEN settings as needed, sometimes short notice, sometimes pre-booked. You might be supporting a pupil 1:1, helping in a small group, or working alongside class staff. No two days are the same, and that’s exactly why many of our BANK TAs love the role.

The schools you’ll work in support children and young people with autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, sensory differences and behaviours linked to complex needs. A good BANK TA brings patience, curiosity and a calm presence into the classroom. Having access to a car is a big plus, as you’ll be travelling between schools.

We’re looking for a BANK TA who:

  • Is calm, flexible and happy adapting to new environments

  • Has the resilience needed to work as a BANK TA in SEN settings

  • Is interested in learning more about communication, sensory regulation and emotional support

  • Can build trust quickly, a key skill for any BANK TA

  • Works well with teachers, therapists and support staff

  • Stays positive during challenging moments

  • Can adapt learning and offer personalised support as a BANK TA

  • Understands safeguarding and professional boundaries

  • Enjoys the freedom and variety that comes with being a BANK TA

About the BANK TA Role

  • BANK TA position on a zero-hour contract

  • Flexible days across SEN schools in Thornbury & South Glos

  • Work ranges from 1:1 support to classroom and small-group help

  • Supporting communication, sensory needs, independence and routines

  • Ideal for experienced BANK TAs, those new to SEN, or anyone wanting flexible work

Many of our BANK TAs choose to stay on long-term, and some move into permanent roles when the time is right.

Why Work as a BANK TA With Us?

  • Supportive, welcoming SEN school teams

  • Training and guidance to help you grow as a BANK TA

  • Experience across a wide range of SEN needs and age groups

  • Flexible work that fits around your life

  • A BANK TA role where your patience and effort are genuinely valued

If you’re an SEN-minded BANK TA looking for flexible work across Thornbury and South Gloucestershire, we’d love to hear from you.
