ASD TEaching Assistant - Newport

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic ASD Teaching Assistant to join a leading ASD school in the Newport area. This is a full-time role starting before the summer break and continuing into the new academic year in September. You will become part of a growing team committed to a child-centred approach to learning in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The school provides a supportive setting for pupils with a range of complex needs and is recognised for its strong leadership and inclusive practice. Successful ASD Teaching Assistant candidates often come from education, care, or children's residential backgrounds. However, individuals with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and a resilient approach to learning are also encouraged to apply.

Requirements

The ideal ASD Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with ASD or additional needs

  • A compassionate and patient approach to learning

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

  • A willingness to learn and engage in relevant training and development
