This rewarding opportunity allows you to support pupils aged 3 to 16 with additional learning needs (ALN), making a positive impact on their learning, confidence, and overall wellbeing.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people, particularly those with ALN or behavioural needs, and who are looking to progress or begin a career in education or care.

Is this the right role for you?

• Do you have experience working in education, care, or a support-focused role?
• Have you supported children or young people with ALN or behavioural challenges?
• Are you looking for a term-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm?
• Would you like to earn between £88.92 and £101.92 per day?

If this sounds like you, we would welcome your application.

About the role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant in this inclusive ALN school, you will support pupils aged 3 to 16 with a range of additional learning needs. Support may be delivered in mainstream classrooms or specialist ALN settings, depending on pupil needs.

This is a varied and fulfilling role where you will help pupils feel safe, confident, and fully included in their education.

Your key responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with ALN
• Encourage independence and support personal care where required
• Promote positive behaviour through consistent and appropriate strategies
• Assist with lesson preparation and classroom activities
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

Who we’re looking for

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education or care
• A patient, calm, and adaptable approach to supporting ALN pupils
• An understanding of additional learning needs or a strong interest in inclusive education
• Confidence in supporting behaviour positively and consistently
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• A driving licence and access to transport is beneficial but not essential

What Vision for Education offers

• Competitive daily pay between £88.92 and £101.92, paid weekly via PAYE
• Free access to training and CPD, including ALN-specific courses
• £125 Refer-a-Friend bonus
• Dedicated support from an experienced education consultant
• A user-friendly app to manage availability and timesheets
• Automatic enrolment into a workplace pension scheme
