Vision for Education is seeking a caring and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at a nurturing and inclusive primary school in Romford.

The Role

• Providing 1:1 support to a child with SEMH needs within a primary classroom setting

• Helping the pupil engage with learning, manage emotions, and build trusting relationships

• Collaborating with teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals to implement support strategies

• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional well-being

• Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

About You

• Experience supporting children with SEMH, trauma, or behavioural needs (essential)

• Calm, empathetic, and patient, with a positive approach to behaviour management

• A strong communicator and team player

• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach) are desirable but not essential
