Are you a patient, nurturing and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the life of a child with additional needs?

Vision for Education is working with a caring and inclusive primary school in Romford to recruit a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

The Role

• Supporting a primary-aged child with autism on a 1:1 basis in a mainstream classroom

• Encouraging engagement, independence and participation in lessons and routines

• Assisting with social communication, emotional regulation, and transitions

• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external agencies to deliver consistent, personalised support

• Promoting a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment

About You

• Experience working with children with autism or special educational needs (essential)

• A caring, patient and adaptable approach

• Confident supporting children with communication or sensory needs

• Able to build strong, trusting relationships with children and staff

• Any training in PECS, Makaton or Autism Awareness is an advantage but not essential
