Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – High Needs
Contract Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, Term Time Only)

Vision for Education is working closely with a warm and inclusive primary school in Romford to recruit a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with high needs, requiring close attention and consistent support throughout the school day.

The Role:

• Supporting a pupil with high and complex SEN needs on a 1:1 basis

• Delivering tailored interventions and managing behaviour support plans

• Assisting with personal care and mobility needs, where required

• Collaborating closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals

• Creating a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience supporting children with high or complex SEN needs (e.g., non-verbal, autism, SEMH, PMLD)

• A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach

• Strong behaviour management and communication skills

• A current DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)

• Team Teach, PECS, or Makaton training (desirable but not essential)
