About the Role
Vision for Education is working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Leeds (LS13) to appoint a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant. The role involves providing dedicated support to a year 1 pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access learning and develop socially and emotionally in a positive school environment.
This position is ideal for a caring, patient, and committed individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs. This is a full time (08:30 - 15:30 - Mon - Fri) long term role that could become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties)

Support learning, engagement, and emotional regulation throughout the school day

Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider support staff

Implement agreed strategies to promote independence and positive behaviour
-
Support with classroom routines, transitions, and inclusion

Maintain safeguarding and child protection standards at all times
Requirements

Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, nursery, or care setting)

A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
